Huawei NE40E Universal Service Router Product Classified



Huawei NE40E Universal Service Router (hereinafter referred to as the NE40E) is a high-end router. The NE40E is positioned as the edge or convergence router on the IP backbone network.

Huawei Quidway NE40E is based on a 400G platform, which is designed to save energy. Each slot has a forwarding capacity of 400Gbps, and the bandwidth of each slot can be smoothly expanded from 40Gbps to 400Gbps, satisfying the bandwidth demands of the next three to five years. The NE40E is compact in design and the interface density can reach 160 x 10G for a single NE40E and 240 x 10G for a single cabinet, which greatly saves space.

Huawei OptiX OSN 8800 Product Features

Carrier-Class Reliability

  • The boards are hot swappable and guarantee carrier-class reliability.

Hardware Extensibility

The ARs support flexible slot combination. For example, two SIC slots can be combined into a wide SIC (WSIC) slot, two WSIC slots are combined into an extra SIC (XSIC) slot, and two XSIC slots can be combined into an extended extra SIC (EXSIC) slot. In addition, a SIC card can be installed into a WSIC slot.

NOTE: AR150 and AR200 series do not support subcards.
